Frequently Asked Questions

Can we get off the boat and sightsee?

We anchor every afternoon in a different location and we provide an opportunity to walk and explore ashore, either in the morning or the evening. Every harbor is unique and you'll find an array of sightseeing possibilities, from fishing villages and unspoiled nature to quaint shops and artist's studios.

Do I have to know how to sail?

Absolutely not! If you want to learn, we are more than happy to teach you.

Will we see any wildlife?

We always do our best to provide the opportunity to see harbor seals, porpoise and whales, which frequent our waters. Expect to see a variety of sea birds, eagles, osprey and ducks and don't forget to listen for the loons... amazing!

What kinds of people go on this vacation? Ages?

People of all ages and walks of life, who love the outdoors, adventure, history, wildlife, beautiful scenery, peace and quiet, great food and connection to family. On designated family cruises the Schooner J & E Riggin welcomes children ages 6 and up and the Schooner Timberwind welcomes children ages 5 and up.
